"Women with ADHD is a lengthy workbook that thoroughly walks readers through how to detect ADHD in themselves, how to cope with this realization, how to curb undesirable behavior, and how to take care of your body to promote healthy brain function. The book starts off on a good note, comforting women. We all need to hear that we are indeed doing a great job and to not be so hard on ourselves. The world expects so much from women. It can be seen that this book is written by a woman, for women. Especially when it comes to mental health and disorder, it is refreshing to see a woman's perspective. The author mentions that just until lately, ADHD has been studied in women and girls. Thinking back, all the people I know who have been diagnosed with ADHD are men and boys. Women are often misdiagnosed or simply written off as lazy or inefficient. This notion makes me appreciate a book like this.


If you do not mind reading so much, you will appreciate the details put in this workbook. I think especially for the target group, women with ADHD, an interactive online workbook would be more effective. The information could be presented with videos and then there are lesson-like interactive videos and checklists. For women with ADHD working on this book, I guess they will simply have to break down the reading and writing tasks. As I mentioned, the workbook is extensive in information and exercises. There are in-depth checklists, and reflections for readers to monitor their progress and adjust. There are also suggestions on rewarding yourself for desirable behavior. All in all, it is an informative but lengthy workbook. You must want to do the work to start."
