"I enthusiastically endorse the second edition of Loversidge and Zurmehly's excellent book on evidence-informed health policy. I required the first edition for a course I taught in NCSBN's International Center for Regulatory Scholarship (ICRS) program. Our ICRS program is for leaders worldwide who want to learn, network, and realize their leadership potential. My course was about the role of the education consultant at boards of nursing, and this book provided them with a perfect background in policy, particularly in how governmental structures drive the process. For example, one of my students' required papers was to write testimony on an educational issue they are dealing with at their boards of nursing. For this paper, the student used the section in the book on providing testimony, as it took them through the steps. My students loved the book because there are few books available that integrate regulation and policy.
