Editorial Reviews

As leaders in public safety departments, we all have a responsibility to do the right things for those we serve. Peer support teams ensure we're doing right by our own. I've Got Your 6: Peer Support for First Responders provides a clear outline for starting a team or improving the one you have.

Captain Dan Cohen,

Williamson County EMS Peer Support

First responders are a unique, often misunderstood group of individuals. Thank you for dedicating your career to our field so that you could provide our peer support team with the necessary tools to reenergize, revitalize, and rejuvenate our colleagues to find resiliency to live their best lives possible. I am proud to say those colleagues are my friends.

Shari Evans, RN,

Air Evac LifeTeam Peer Support

and Training Center Coordinator

This book is a must-have for any department/agency looking to establish a peer support program! Having been a part of the process of developing our program from the ground up and engaging with Tania early on, we followed the steps as outlined in this book and have transformed some of those "nay-sayers" into true believers. One of the keys to the overall success of our program has also been having Tania speak about the importance of peer support to our new recruits at the academy. When I saw the agents lined up to speak to Tania at the end of her segment, it brought me the greatest satisfaction knowing she is breaking down the stigma of "sucking it up" and instead promoting good mental health from the onset of their careers.

Valerie McCarthy,

Federal Law Enforcement Agent (Retired),

Peer Support Team Leader
